DIVISION OF HOUSING  PRESERVATION

The Division of Housing Preservation is responsible for the preservation of existing housing in Jersey City. The Division’s Office of Housing Code Enforcement ensures that properties occupied by Jersey City’s residents meet the standards required by the Jersey City Property Maintenance Code (Chapter 254). The Jersey City Rent Control Ordinance (Chapter 260) is enforced by the Office of Landlord/Tenant Relations.




 The Division also oversees the permitting of Short-term Rentals and enforcement of the Short-term Rental Ordinance (Chapter 255)
